To make the best, you have to use the best. Project X has teamed up with Hexcel, a global leader in composites technology for aerospace and military operations, to utilize their HexTow® carbon fibers. Hexcel’s HexTow® carbon fiber represents the highest quality aerospace-grade carbon fiber delivering superior performance on some of the world’s most advanced aircraft. The HZRDUS brand is a distinguished mark of the aggressive swinger, and that legacy is continued with the new HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX. Built with 100% aerospace materials, Smoke Black RDX is the first shaft to utilize Hexcel’s new HexTow® HM54 high modulus carbon fiber and combines it with high tensile strength HexTow® IM2C carbon fiber to provide the ideal blend of stiffness and stability desired by the HZRDUS player. Smoke Black RDX features an ultra-stiff midsection along with a stiff tip section to provide a low launch and low spin shaft designed to keep up with your swing.

FAST

TEMPO

Tempo is not how fast you swing it, it is how you swing it fast. Tempo will affect how you load and unload the shaft and is a big factor in which shaft will best suit you. A player with a quicker backswing and more aggressive transition will have a faster tempo, while a player with a slower backswing and smoother transition will have a more deliberate tempo.

LOW

TRAJECTORY

Trajectory is the flight of the ball and the peak height that the ball reaches. A player who struggles with getting the ball in the air should look towards a higher trajectory shaft, while a player who struggles hitting the ball too high should look for a lower trajectory shaft.

LOW

SPIN

Spin is the amount of backspin that the ball has. The designs of certain golf shafts can promote more or less spin so keep this in mind when looking for a shaft to maximize your game.

Contrary to popular belief, when it comes to carbon fiber, stiffness and strength are not the same. Often a stiff material is very brittle, and a strong material is not very stiff. This makes shaft engineers develop a combination of multiple materials to try and dial in ideal strength and stiffness properties for a certain shaft, and in doing so, creates trade-offs when trying to design a lightweight, stable shaft that delivers maximum energy transfer. This is where Hexcel’s® most advanced HexTow® carbon fiber comes in: iM10. The iM10 family of shafts are the first Project X shafts to feature Hexcel’s® incredibly unique iM10 carbon fiber, a very high modulus (stiff) and very high strength carbon fiber allowing for new possibilities in golf shaft design. iM10 shafts offer unmatched stability in both a playable mid launch/spin design and a counterbalanced low launch/spin tour design—providing a variety of options to best suit your game.

MODERATE

The Extreme Game Improvement Hot Launch E522 Fairway Metal offers the game-changing Houdini Sole in conjunction with a super-shallow face, a slice-fighting offset design and heel weighting for added draw bias.

The 17-4 stainless-steel fairway features a thinner and lighter forged steel crown that increases ball speed for the increased power creation and the ultimate in ease of use.

Houdini Sole Technology

The Houdini Sole is an emerging sole design innovation that pushes weight back as much as possible for an ultra-low and deep CG, optimizing launch conditions and greatly improving forgiveness off the face.

The Houdini Sole design element has proven to be one of the most effective technologies at getting balls out of tough lies by reducing turf interaction by 35%.

Diamond Face 2.0 / Cup Face Technology

The Hot Launch E522 Fairway features Diamond Face 2.0 technology with 42 different thick and thin diamond shapes behind the face of the metals for an enhanced sweet spot.

Different variables of thick and thin diamond shapes or “mini-trampolines” behind the face combine with a Cup Face construction to produce greater face flex, faster ball speeds and better performance on off-center hits.

Heel Weighted/Slice Fighting Offset/Shallow Face Designs

The super-shallow face design in the E522 Fairway Metal produces higher launch angles and extreme ease of launch. The strategically placed heel draw-bias weight of the E range offset designs was engineered to help golfers avoid hitting slices.

Control Length Shafts

Control Length Shafts Technology is optimized shorter shaft lengths that were designed specifically for the E522 Fairway Metal to greatly improve accuracy, control and to offer maxed out Smash Factor ratings for the club head. The Control Length shaft system leads to more players hitting the center of the clubface.

Specifications

The E522 Fairway comes stock with a super-light Fubuki HL graphite shaft by Mitsubishi Chemical that range from 45 to 55 grams depending on the flex. The extremely light FUBUKI shafts come with lower kick points and lower cycles per minute frequencies that promise to help players achieve maximum velocity and to fight a fade; producing a longer, straighter and a slightly drawn ball flight.

This Competition Spec Hot Launch C522 Fairway Metal is for the player seeking optimal launch and spin rates with minimal offset designs, while still enjoying the benefits of extreme ease of use. The Hot Launch 522 Fairway Metals are constructed of 17-4 stainless steel and features a thinner and lighter forged steel crown that increases clubhead speed for the ultimate in power creation.

Diamond Face 2.0 / Cup Face Technology

The Hot Launch C522 Fairway Metal features Diamond Face 2.0 technology with 42 different thick and thin diamond shapes behind the face of the metals for an enhanced sweet spot. Different variables of thick and thin diamond shapes or “mini-trampolines” behind the face combine with a Cup Face construction to produce greater face flex, faster ball speeds and better performance on off-center hits.

High MOI/Rear Sole Weighting

More weight in the rear sole, created by the weight in the extreme back of the clubhead, moves the Center of Gravity deep in the head for an extremely high MOI that will tighten dispersion and increase overall accuracy. The low and rear CG positioning creates increased launch angles, apex heights, hang time and overall distance.

Acoustic Resonance Channels – Upgraded acoustic engineering is achieved though Acoustic Resonance Channels (A.R.C.) Engineering. The A.R.C. sound channel system is a visible technology that can be seen on the sole of the clubhead. Internally, these channels bounce sound on the inside of the club head to provide top-shelf sound and feel.

Power Channel

A deeper Power Channel on the sole behind the face creates better weight distribution and increased face flexing. The Power Channel delivers amplified ball speed and less spin, as well as added forgiveness on shots struck

The Pinhawk SLF single-length fairway woods are for single length players to complement the Pinhawk Irons and/or Pinhawk Hybrids. Golfers of all handicaps can benefit by using these fairways that are specifically designed so they all can be played at the same length (same as a 5-wood). Fine-tuned perimeter weighting also gives these woods maximum forgiveness. You’ll find the low center of gravity gets the ball up quickly and easily with a perfect trajectory. Your ball position stays the same, your stance stays the same, and your spine angle stays the same. Same proven single-length technology, with the same swing on the same plane, with the same feel for each fairway wood. Now you can have not only more consistency in your iron play, but also more consistency in your fairway wood play. Testing has proven that the loft gapping on the Pinhawk SLF to be a perfect 4 degrees between clubs. The Pinhawk SLF fairways conform to the Rules of Golf.

This pushes the weld back away from the actual face so the areas around the perimeter could be made thinner creating more face deflection for higher ball speeds to areas other than the center of the face. Even when you miss-hit the ball, the XV with cup-face technology provides you that extra spring-like effect for longer shots. These also feature the same Power Chamber as the matching driver. In addition, these low profile heads coupled with the Gravity Port moved toward the face promotes a higher launch with lower spin.
